VS Code Explorer Ctrl + Shift + E

Run ibus-setup in the terminal.

ibus-setup

A GUI dialog will open.

 

Go to the 'Emoji' tab --> Ellipsis(...) buttton --> Delete --> OK.

 

 

That's it.

 

Works for me on Ubuntu 20.04.
